Allogeneic Marrow Transplantation in Patients Positive for Hepatitis
نویسنده
چکیده
Twenty patients who were positive for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) underwent allogeneic marrow transplant for malignancy or other underlying hematologic disease between 1975 and 1986. After transplant, one patient had serologic evidence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) reactivation whereas three patients had evidence of an immune response to HBV. Among four patients with serologic follow-up of 1 year or more, three remained positive for HBsAg and one became HBsAg negative. Six patients (30%) developed clinical evidence of venocclusive disease and seven patients (35%) developed acute graft-versus-host disease involving the liver, but the incidence of these complications was similar to that expected among patients who are not carriers of HBsAg. Three patients died with hepatorenal failure, but

Long-term effects of hepatitis C virus infection in allogeneic bone marrow transplant recipients.
A total of 161 patients transplanted between 1978 and 1991 and who had survived at least 2 years after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) were studied. Of 161 surviving patients, 28 (17.4%) were positive for hepatitis C virus (HCV) either by serology or polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Twenty-five patients were positive for HCV RNA by PCR, and 26 of the 28 patients had HCV antibodies ...

متن کاملT-cell large granular lymphocytic leukemia of donor origin occurring after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation for B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders.
T-cell lymphoproliferative disorders are uncommon occurrences after bone marrow transplantation (BMT). We describe 2 patients in whom a monoclonal T-cell large granular lymphocytosis (T-LGL) developed after allogeneic BMT for B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders. Both patients showed a persistent expansion of CD3+, CD8+, and CD57+ large granular lymphocytes of donor origin with clonally rearran...
متن کاملRole of Stem Cell Transplantation in the Treatment of Burkitt Lymphoma; A Systematic Review
Background: Burkitt lymphoma is a common subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in children. It has a rapid and aggressive clinical course with frequent involvement of bone marrow and central nervous system. Systemic chemotherapy is the mainstay of the treatment for this malignancy in children. In this systematic review, we discuss autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSC...
متن کاملA 16 Month Survey of Cyclosporine Utilization Evaluation in Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Recipients
Objectives: Graft versus host disease (GVHD) is a life threatening reaction in the stem cell transplantation process. Nowadays Cyclosporine is the most commonly utilized agent for GVHD prophylaxis and it has a major role in successful transplantation. Cyclosporine has been applied for many years in this field but it could be stated that currently no general consensus is available for its optima...

Baekgrouund & purpose: In recent years, the role of adenoviruses in infection and disease in recipients of bone marrow transplantation (BMT) has been studied. It suppose that adenoviral infections are prevalant in these patients Due to using medicines for preventing transplant rejection. This study was performed to compare the incidence of adenoviruses in urine samples taken before and after...
